Introduction

The European age of exploration started when the Europeans wanted to find an easier route via sea to The Asian countries especially India and the spice island today Moluccas islands because they don’t have to travel on land .

Bartolomeu Dias

Bartolomeu Dias was born in the year 1450 died in the year 1500… he was a knight at king john the first’s court.

Bartolomeu Dias is a great knight, explorer and navigator, he was appointed to find a new route via sea to reach The Asian countries so He traveled using the ship called the carvel ship he started in the year 1487 and started at the port of Lisbon. he followed the route of Diego Cao an explorer in the 15 centaury who traveled in the coast of Africa. he traveled southward following the coast of Africa. while he was traveling he faced a terrible storm which blew him sideward. when him and his crew couldn’t see land for 13 days. when the finally saw land Bartolomeu Dias’s crew convinced him to go back to Portugal. When going back he found the southern tip of Africa  and he named a place where he faced a storm the cape of storms. And later on king john the second renamed it the cape of good hope. The king was not happy with the return of Bartolomeu Dias, but Bartolomeu Dias traveled again to the cape of good hope and faced a storm again and he died.

Ferdinand Magellan

He was also a great explorer and navigator he set of toward the west from Spain to find a route to the spice islands. He set of with five ships and sailed past the Carrabin sea and traded for food on the way with the tribe in south America. then he sailed across the pacific ocean and  and reached the Philippines there the people wanted Ferdinand Magellan and the crew to fight with them against tato lopo lopo Ferdinand Magellan died in the fight so the rest of the crew took help of the people and when they reached in the year 1541 they traded and were coming back the way  Bartolomeu Dias went…

Christopher Columbus

Born-Genoa-1451

He was given the same task as Bartolomeu Dias but this time he received a map from an astronomer so he followed it and ended up in the Carrabin island where he explored the Americas and made a discovery!

Vasco De Gama

Vasco De Gama followed the way of Bartolomeu Dias, he set of form Lisbon and went further until he reached Calicut today in Karikal, India he traded so much and when he returned with great amount of cargo the king was real impressed with him and soon he traveled 2 more times and he dies in the year 24 December 1524…
